Our mission is to foster collaboration among justice, municipal, and community leaders to enhance the criminal justice system through data-driven decision-making, inclusive dialogue, and innovative practices.
We strive to promote public safety, ensure accountability, and create equitable outcomes for all individuals impacted by the justice system.
Who we are
The CJCC is a diverse group of leaders who address and improve policies and procedures of the East Baton Rouge criminal justice system. CJCC members include justice, municipal, and community leaders from within East Baton Rouge Parish, with specific effort towards including the voices of those with lived experience.
What we do
The CJCC fosters and promotes collaboration, inclusion, and equity among justice, municipal, and community leaders in East Baton Rouge Parish. The members of the CJCC use data and community input to guide conversations on how to best develop effective ways to administer an equitable justice system and advance public safety with the goals of creating effective alternatives to incarceration, and reducing racial and ethnic disparities within the justice system.
